Your swing is no match with the right length club.
Your golf swing is part to the length of your club. If it is a driver being used for a 100 yards or longer using a eight or nine will be able to get it down the fairway. I have developed my technique by trial and error. When selecting a golf club check with the angle of the back swing to the contact point at the base of the club to the level floor. If it tends to drag against the floor before contacting the ball the angle and height of your swing will not be a extension of natural movement. If you can examine a generic arc of a golfers swing you will notice the fluid movement that is developed with the arms, shoulders and golf clubs. Try to use this as a general point of reference and keep this in mind when selecting new clubs for your golf game.
